From April 9 to 11, Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), led a delegation to Kenya.
During the visit, Yu was invited to attend the ICC World Chambers Federation (WCF) Africa Summit, where he delivered a speech on China-Africa cooperation.
At the summit, Yu held separate meetings with Philippe Varin, Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC); John W.H. Denton, ICC Secretary General; and Erick Rutto, President of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI). He also participated in the ICC-WCF Council Meeting held alongside the summit.
During the visit, Yu Jianlong met with Zhou Zhencheng, Minister Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, and discussed with Pius Rotich, general manager for investment promotion and business development at the Kenya Investment Authority. He also conducted field visits to the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project undertaken by China Road and Bridge Corporation, as well as the Chinese e-commerce company Kilimall.
